At the Empire Riverside Hotel in Hamburg – a landmark overlooking the Elbe and known for its commitment to a greener hospitality industry – the first Sustainability Day brought together employees, partners, and guests to explore innovative ideas for a better future.
Workshop: “What Do Fungi, Algae, Worms, Artificial Intelligences, and Urine Have in Common?”
They all have the potential to save our planet!
In our daily lives, we are constantly bombarded with the term sustainability: from recycled shampoo bottles and reusable coffee cups to electric cars — we buy products that promise to make the world a better place. But what is truly sustainable, and how can we tell when we’re being deceived by greenwashing?
Do we really need to look to the future with fear? And what can we actively do to ensure that future generations can still enjoy our planet?
In this workshop, we explored the big questions of our time. Participants discovered innovative — and sometimes delightfully strange — ideas that spark hope for a greener tomorrow. Together, we visualized a more sustainable future, driven by creativity, curiosity, and collaboration.
