Pawchair, the

The Pawchair belongs to the genus of Catniture and is a 3D-printed armchair shaped like an oversized cat’s paw. It often triggers what is known as “cute aggression” in both young and old cat lovers – in German also referred to as the Süßigkeitsaggressionseskalationsphase (sweetness-aggression-escalation phase).

Those who linger too long in the Pawchair risk falling into a deep, catlike slumber, during which feline dreams are projected onto the human mind. In some sleepers, the phenomenon of spontaneous purring has even been documented – a soft, rhythmic vibration in the chest, accompanied by contented breathing and twitching limbs.

Researchers from the International Society for Animal Mybiology attribute this to microscopic resonance chambers within the Pawchair, precisely tuned to 29 hertz – the typical purring frequency of a relaxed cat.

Still, the question remains: will the oversized cat ever reclaim its paw – and what will then become of the current occupant of the chair?
